Juli, Josh and I arrived early in order to get set up in the upstairs banquet room. We waited for everyone to arrive and chatted. It seemed to me that the room felt very peaceful and calm at that time. During the entire time we were setting up and readying ourselves for the night.
I partnered up with Kevin and we headed down to the wine cellar/cooler basement area. Bill came down and unlocked the large walk in cooler and I took a quick photo inside of that and figured that it wouldn't be real safe to go in there in the dark with the chance that the door may close us in so I had him re-lock it. He showed us where the switches are for the lights and went back upstairs. We proceeded to shut the lights off and begin our vigil in the actual wine room. There is a lot of machinery in this cellar area so there are a variety of noises that happen with a certain regularity and there are many water pipes through which you can hear water running on and off. As we were in the wine room I got a slight feeling that maybe we weren't alone, but sort of disregarded it a little due to there being so many machines and pipes and such. While we were down there I heard the door leading to bar area open and close once and also apart from the door, I heard distinctly what sounded like one of the cupboard doors open and close near the door in the small hallway there. Both times there was no one there when we went to check. I thought I saw a shadow twice go past the closet across the way from the wine room door. We came out and I tried to cast the same type of shadow and could not reproduce it. Kevin had the EMF meter, which gave a reading for a very short time in the center area in front of the closet, then it stopped.
We moved into the front area where the ice machine is located and I sat at the bottom of the stairs as I wanted to see if the door would be opened and by whom. Presently, Kathy did open the door to put a bag of foam cups into one of the cupboards. I asked her if she had opened the door at any other time while we were down there and she said that she hadn't, but I didn't find out if anyone else had.
We decided to go up to the dining room and met up with Juli and Rich there. We took a short break to step outside and I left my DVR on the larger round table towards the rear. When we came back in, everyone was saying how the apartments upstairs were so active and Kevin really wanted to see something during this investigation so we headed up to see what the apartments would hold for us. We entered the rear apartment, “C” and started wandering through until we reached the loft bedroom area, as that's where we heard was very active. I looked into the closet and asked, “Are you hiding in here? Can you say something?” We sat there for a while and my stomach started feeling just sort of queasy, or just like an odd uneasiness in the pit of my stomach, I should say. We both heard a giggle and dismissed it as being either Judy or her team in the banquet room, or the people who were at the bar downstairs. We called out trying to provoke some sort of happening and didn't get anything so we moved on to the middle apartment.
While we were in Kathy's apartment...the middle one...”B”...we were standing by the refrigerator in the kitchen when I felt as if my left arm was being grabbed very gently. I checked out the magnets she had on the fridge there just to see if perhaps I was pressing up against one and what was sticking out from the one closest to my arm was a feather, which would not have given that sensation. I didn't sense anything else in that apartment and we moved onto the first one “A”.
Judy had come through the small door that leads from the banquet room to Apartment “C”, and said that she wanted everyone to get things wrapped up...or at least to start. We made our exam of Apartment “A” quickly and nothing of note was there.
I wanted Kevin to have some sort of experience so badly though so we went down to the basement area that is off of the rear of the kitchen. We ran into Josh and Tim in the hallway and they were having an encounter with something right there. (I took a picture but nothing turned out) Tim said that if Kevin wanted an experience that we were in the right place, so they headed upstairs and we stayed. We called out and sat at the end of the hallway for a bit, and moved more to where Tim and Josh had been in the center area as nothing was yet happening. I started to feel as if there were a definite male presence there but as if he was tired of doing “tricks”. Kevin and I were both sooo wanting something to occur though as Kevin kept saying what a skeptic he was and that he'd need some definite proof of something being there if there was anything at all.
We stepped into the small storage room that is more enclosed and I caught a quick smell of antiseptic...like how old doctor's offices would smell...hard to explain. We were in there for only a short while when Kevin said he had to get going soon and that he didn't have another hour to spend waiting for some “chicken **** ghost”. I said, “Move something!” and at that time Kevin thought he had seen something move. We were just at the point of dismissing the movement for the shadow of the wire hanging from the EMF meter in his hand when we heard a tremendous crashing sound that was like unto someone falling down steps carrying a box of silverware! I said, “Thank You!” as we had waited all night for some sort of audible sound! We rushed around the basement area where we had thought the sound came from and there was nothing disturbed so we went up the stairs and nothing was disturbed in the kitchen either. We met Josh and Tim who had apparently heard the sound too and no one had fallen down the stairs or anything at all that we all knew of at that time. Judy said she thought that perhaps it had been when Bill was jumping on some kind of steel door or ramp or something in the front of the restaurant. She came downstairs with us though where we explained kind of what had happened.
We had to wrap it up then however so we headed up to the banquet room where we took some team pictures and Josh and Tim went to go collect equipment from various parts of the building. Soon Josh came in and asked me to bring my camera down to the office. Upon entering the office Hope and Kathy were picking a variety of things up off of the floor when Josh said, “Look at the shelf”. The metal brackets holding the shelf up had been bent with the most severe bend on the one above the large desk in the corner by the wall. The contents of the shelf were skewed throughout the office area...including a bunch of spoons. Ah ha! Our sound! I don't know what could have caused this, as the shelf had been fine beforehand. It was almost a relief to find that the crashing sound we heard was actually something that did indeed fall, yet, obviously there was a reason it fell, but logic just can't explain that one.
